Edward Loring is removed as a judge of the Suffolk County Probate Court.

Loring is removed by Gov. Nathaniel Banks at the urging of abolitionists for enforcing the Fugitive Slave Law when he served as U.S. Commissioner in 1854. He is almost immediately appointed a Justice of the U.S. Court of Claims.
